The structures in the semiconductor industry are becoming smaller and smaller, while the number of processing steps is constantly increasing. Zero-defect production in all processes has therefore become an indispensable prerequisite for achieving an acceptable overall yield.
Optics
Hardly any other manufacturing process produces as many process-related particles as the polishing of optics. Particles that do not originate from the polishing agent and cause micro-scratches during polishing must be eliminated.
