Although often referred to as secondary processes storage and transport of materials and products are of particular importance in the production process. Attention has to be paid to the fact that when stored for longer harmful particles can settle on surfaces or sensitive materials can suffer damage because of humidity and oxygen in the air also in clean rooms. Protection against contamination of the products is as well necessary during transports through rooms of a lower degree of purity than the production process stipulates.

For all these purposes COLANDIS has developed the transport and storage system called CleanTranStore (CTS). CleanTranStore is available in the following varieties:

Active systems

• Transport carts and storage cabinets through which cleanest air is blown are equipped with filter fan systems which clean the air within an extensively closed cycle and lead it into the storage shelves. The transport carts can be used for transport purposes in steady operation (mains supply) as well as in mobile operation (electricity supply by battery/accumulator).

• Storage cabinets and boxes through which nitrogen is blown (N2-storage cabinets) are supplied with nitrogen from outside. The nitrogen streams out of nozzles into each single storage shelf and displaces the air rich in oxygen.

More storage systems blown through with inert gas are supplied by COLANDIS on customer’s request. (construction analogue the systems blown through with nitrogen)

Passive systems

• Transport carts and shelves that can be streamed through do not have an own supply with clean air and therefore depend on the ambient conditions. They are suitable mainly for transport and storage within clean rooms in which the degree of purity of the air is sufficient. These transport carts and shelves are manufactured for individual applications on customer’s request.

• Closed transport carts are suitable for short-term transports. The attached doors/flaps are shut after loading and protect the material inside from contamination extensively. These transport carts are manufactured for individual applications on customer’s request.
